Kerry Roper Tryout

This is an artist inspired piece i created in my Final Major project.  It is inspired by "Kerry Ropers" style of work, i like his style as it is straight to the point and different.  I was planning on creating a menu in this style but i did not in the end as it did not quite work out.  This piece was good typography and brush making practise for me!

Mickey Mouse Illustration

I created this piece by using Illustrator, it was originally a screen print by Andy Warhol, but i liked it so much i decided i wanted to recreated it myself using different colours and a different technique.

A bit about me.

I have chosen some of my best pieces of my work for this digital portfolio.  The pieces i have chosen show off my best and wide range of skills.  They also show a bit about my personality as from viewing my work you can see, Avril Lavigne is one of my idols and i like Super Mario, also a lot of my work uses soft colours- this reflects my personality as i am genuine and nice.  I hope to build up the skills i have already got on the Graphic Design degree course.  Graphic Design is something that has always interested me, as everything we see is designed in some way, and as we are in the 21st century more and more things are being designed digitally.  I hope this degree will broaden my skills, and set me up for a lifetime career in the industry. Another career path i am thinking of taking after completing this degree, is to become a tutor in Graphic Design myself, although this would be many years down the line, i would enjoy passing my skills onto others.  I do not just want to become a Graphic Designer so i have a job to bring in some money, i want to complete this degree with 100% effort as it it something i want to do myself, for the rest of my life, it is a passion.
I think that studying at Manchester Metropolitan will help me mature more in myself, as i will be moving away from home, gaining responsibility for myself, money, my work, and living.  I think that the course is very appealing and seeing work created by past students motivates me to get on this course even more, as i want to produce work too such a proffesional high standard.  

Avril Lavigne Vector

I created this vector illustration in response to a recent graphics project. My skills greatly improved during this activity, this illustration was created using Adobe Illustrator. I choose to draw Avril Lavigne as she is one of my idols. 

Super Mario Scene

This is a piece of my own work, i decided to create this vector type image to improve my skills in Adobe Illustrator.  I created each character separately and then placed behind the images a background i created.  I think this looks very realistic compared to the actual game.

Still Life Studio Shoot Edit

I took this photograph in a studio setting, using an SLR camera.  I like this photograph as it is very vibrant and the whole image is very clear.  I did not need to edit the photograph much, i just altered the brightness and contrast to enhance it.

Angelique Houtcamp Vector

This is a copy of one of Angelique Houtcamp's pieces, this was my first attempt at a vector on Adobe illustrator and inspired me to carry on with different ideas.
